Ferdinando Guerra
Associate Economist
Kyser Center for Economic Research
Ferdinando Guerra joined the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) in April 2009 as an Associate Economist in the Kyser Center for Economic Research.
In his current capacity as an Associate Economist at the LAEDC, Mr. Guerra prepares the international sections of LAEDC’s Economic Forecasts and is a primary contributor to the annual International Trade Trends report. He was the principal author of LAEDC’s recently released country reports, Growing Together: China and Los Angeles County and Growing Together: Japan and Los Angeles County. In addition, he compiles the on-line “Business Scan” and contributes regularly to the Kyser Center’s online weekly “e-EDGE”. Mr. Guerra also teaches Economics and Political Science part-time at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, CA.
Prior to joining LAEDC, Mr. Guerra served as an Economist for David Taussig & Associates, an economic consulting firm, preparing fiscal and economic impact reports for private sector clients and public agencies. He also has worked in the financial services industry, for Morgan Stanley and on Wall Street with the American Stock Exchange. Previously, Mr. Guerra had been an Associate Economist with Standard & Poor’s DRI in Washington D.C., focusing on the energy and chemical industries, international inflation and special client reports.
Mr. Guerra earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of Southern California (USC). He received his Master of Arts degree in International Economics and International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Mr. Guerra is a member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Association for Business Economics (NABE).
