George Hernandez joined the LAEDC in January 2009, bringing more than twenty five years of real estate marketing and management experience in both the public and private sectors and more than six years of economic development experience in a municipal setting. Prior to joining LAEDC, Mr. Hernandez had been employed in the real estate investment and financial services industry.
From 2003 to 2006, Mr. Hernandez served on the Los Angeles Business Team under both Mayor James Hahn and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. This team was responsible for business retention, growth and attraction efforts amounting to $150,000,000 in capitalization/investment and over 3,000 jobs retained, grown or attracted to the City of Los Angeles.
Mr. Hernandez also spent nearly four years as the Housing Coordinator for the City of San Fernando. His real estate experience includes nearly five years in the sales and marketing of corporate owned real estate, initially as an Asset Manager for Fannie Mae and then as the owner of his own real estate company.
Mr. Hernandez holds a MPA in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge.
