Marisa Garcia-Villanueva

Before Joining LAEDC, Marisa Villanueva was a Corporate Developer for the Orange County Business Service Center, an affiliate of Coastline Community College. Her responsibilities included partnering with economic development agencies in assisting Orange County businesses with workforce development, including hiring, retention, outplacement assistance and coordinating seminars for small business owners.

Prior to joining the Orange County Business Service Center, Ms. Villanueva was a Business Service Representative for the Carson/Lomita/Torrance WiN/WorkSource Center in the Harbor and South Bay area. In this position, she was responsible for business outreach, providing HR assistance, On-the-Job training, and information on hiring tax credits.

Marisa Villanueva is an award winning Broadcast On-Air Promotions Director. Winning a gold and silver award from Promax/BDA International in 1999 and 1998, she served as Director of On-Air Promotions for FOX Latin American Channels, Programming Production Manager for The Weather Channel Latin America, and On-Air Promotions Manager for TNT Latin America and the Cartoon Network.

Ms. Villanueva is a college and university adjunct professor of Communication for the Los Angeles Community College District and the University of Phoenix.

Raised in Los Angeles, Marisa Villanueva received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola Marymount University and a Master of Arts degree from California State University Fullerton.
