Nancy Dayton Sidhu, Ph. D.

Dr. Nancy Sidhu is Chief Economist in The Kyser Center for Economic Research of the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation. She analyzes and prepares forecasts of national, regional, and industry trends for the LAEDC’s economic publications and delivers speeches throughout California. She is frequently quoted in the news media including the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Daily News, and Orange County Register, and has appeared on network TV and radio stations including KNX, KABC, KNBC, KCBS, CNBC and Fox, to name a few.
Just prior to joining the LAEDC, Dr. Sidhu was a senior economist for Bank of America, specializing in the analysis of the Southern California region as well as the metals and several other industries. Previously, she had served Security Pacific National Bank as the economist responsible for the Bank's U.S. economic and interest rate forecast. In earlier years, Dr. Sidhu was first a university economics professor and then an economist and corporate planner with Inland Steel Industries in Chicago. Moving to Los Angeles, she joined the Planning Administration department of Toyota Motor Sales USA.
Dr. Sidhu received her B.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Active in her profession, she chairs the Economic Advisory Council of the California Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Sidhu also is an Associate Editor of the quarterly publication Business Economics and has served terms as President of the Chicago and Los Angeles chapters of the National Association of Business Economics.
