Yvonne Chavez
Manager, Business Assistance & Development
Yvonne Chavez joins the LAEDC in July 2008 as the Manager of Business Assistance and Development. Ms. Chavez is responsible for promoting Los Angeles County’s vital economic strengths, business opportunities, diversity, competitive advantages and unique benefits. Additionally, Ms. Chavez motivates clients, consultants, and businesses to consider LA County for development projects and supports the Business Assistance and Development Department’s overall goal of retaining and creating jobs within the County of Los Angeles.
Ms. Chavez has extensive experience providing technical assistance & financial planning support to small business owners, real estate developers and community organizations in the loan packaging/underwriting of commercial mortgage, SBA, working capital, as well as, private real estate & community development loans. She previously served as the Community Reinvestment (CRA) Officer for Community Bank and Senior Loan Officer of the Business Financial Center, a small business development & lending program of CHARO Community Development Corporation. Previous to her position at CHARO, Ms. Chavez acted as Capacity-Building Specialist for Special Services for Groups developing bilingual training curriculum and conducting business/non-profit development workshops. Ms. Chavez has developed new commercial real estate business from both existing customers and new prospects. Furthermore, Ms. Chavez has conducted training for nonprofit and faith-based organizations focusing on community facilities development, fund development, and public/private partnerships.
Currently residing in Maywood, Ms. Chavez serves as a Board Member for the FDIC Alliance for Economic Inclusion and is a member of the National Latina Business Women’s Association located in Los Angeles.
