The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) is continuing to meet with Huy Fong Foods and City of Irwindale, to work on a solution that addresses the concerns on both sides, to set the stage for long-term sustainability of the company. We will do everything that we can to ensure that Huy Fong Foods remains in Irwindale — and in L.A. County, the #1 manufacturing capital of America.
Ever present in our thoughts — the many manufacturing employees who earn a living at the Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce facility, supporting their families. It is great to see workers acknowledge our efforts, as was evident at the rally pictured above. A job is more than a paycheck. Our communities and the health and well being of our residents depend on a thriving economy and strong businesses, which is why we provide strategic, on-the-ground assistance to governments and businesses.
Huy Fong Foods is a great example of a successful redevelopment project in the City of Irwindale. The City developed an abandoned pit, and working with developers and Huy Fong Foods, turned the location into a multi-million dollar, state-of-the art facility employing over 90 full time workers and an additional 150 seasonal workers in the fall, producing a product that has an international following.
The LAEDC’s Business Assistance team meets with businesses of all sizes throughout L.A. County to help them overcome challenges, remain successful in L.A.
