LOS ANGELES, CA (April 1, 2016) — The World Trade Center Los Angeles (WTCLA) today announced it is part of the largest-ever U.S. delegation to Hannover Messe, the world’s foremost trade fair for industrial technology, taking place April 25-29, in Hannover, Germany. For the first time in the Fair’s history, the United States will be the Partner Country, a status that provides the more than 390 businesses and organizations in the U.S. delegation an unprecedented opportunity to be prominently featured throughout the event. President Obama and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will also participate in this year’s event, themed “Integrated Industry-Discover Solutions.”
The World Trade Center Los Angeles will exhibit in the Investment Pavilion at Hannover Messe. At the show, WTCLA will provide information and business assistance to international companies seeking to locate or expand operations in Los Angeles, and to California companies looking to export products and services to the international market.
“The World Trade Center Los Angeles is thrilled to represent the SoCal Region and to showcase its unrivaled strengths and assets,” said Stephen Cheung, President of the WTCLA. “LA County is home to 10.1 million consumers with an annual gross domestic product of $664 billion supported by the number 1 and number 2 container ports in North America, and the number 1 origin and destination airport in the world. As our economy continues to globalize, we must remain competitive by positioning Los Angeles as the key international trade hub”
“The U.S. business community and the Department of Commerce have a clear message for the world: the United States is open for business. We will demonstrate and deliver on that message at the 2016 Hannover Messe,” said U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. “We are proud to have some of America’s most innovative and forward-thinking Economic Development Organizations joining the U.S. delegation at this year’s fair.”
Hannover Messe typically hosts more than 200,000 attendees from more than 70 countries, including global investors, buyers, distributors, resellers and government officials.
After Hannover Messe, WTCLA will be preparing to host the SELECT LA conference, in conjunction with SelectUSA, which will draw international investors to the USA to highlight foreign direct investment opportunities. SelectUSA is hosted by President Obama’s administration and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker. SELECT LA is scheduled for the weekend prior to SelectUSA, at the Los Angeles JW Marriot Hotel.
