LAEDC forms Digital Media & Entertainment (DME) Industry Council

Furthering its support of key industry clusters that drive the region’s economy and which bring opportunity for well-paying jobs to the Greater Los Angeles region, LAEDC has formed the new Digital Media & Entertainment (DME) Industry Council, to bring industry participants together and address both challenges and opportunities for growth in the region.

The DME Industry Council will be led by a diverse team of Co-Chairs, each with a unique perspective on the industry cluster.  The Co-Chairs are;

  • Gaude Paez, Vice President & Head of Corporate Communications, Hulu
  • Scott Porter, Partner, Advisory Services and Program Director, Entrepreneur of the Year Greater LA, Ernst & Young LLP
  • Rick Smith, Co-Founder & Managing Director, CrossCut Ventures
  • Lisa Solana, Vice President, Marketing/Strategy, ABC Studios

LAEDC will oversee operation of the council and facilitate the progress of our Co-Chairs and participating attendees.  There is no requirement for membership or dues, as this council is purely focused on advancing the industry’s success, and LAEDC invites industry participants to join the quarterly meetings and special focus discussions to inform the council’s work.

The first opportunity to meet all the Co-Chairs and start a dialog will be coming soon, when LAEDC will host an expert panel and networking mixer, focused on the state of the digital media industry in the Los Angeles region, as well as the impact of technology and the future of work for the industry.  New LAEDC research on the industry cluster will also be announced at the event, scheduled for February 8th from 4pm-8pm in Hollywood.  Stay tuned for more details, or,
